Hartley House (also known as the Bond-Bates-Hartley House) is one of the oldest homes in Lexington County. The history dates back to George Washington who was rumored to be a guest of John Pearson Bond during his political tour in 1791. The home once served as a a post office and stage coach stop prior to the founding of Batesburg. The Hartley family loved to entertain, with many descendants hosting their very own wedding on the grounds of the estate. As a private residence, Hartley House was once equipped with it's own tennis court and recreation area that attracted local socialites. The home still stands as a prominent part of Batesburg community.

Hi there! I am Crystal Mustard, venue director of Hartley House. Wife to John (our #1 maintenance man), and mama to our little boy Liam (groundskeeper in-training). When this historic home fell on our radar in 2021, we went to take a look and instantly fell in love with it's charm and character. As a family owned and operated venue, we truly care about our clients, their guests, and the success of the event. Our goal is to deliver a hospitable experience to every person that walks through our doors. From the initial tour leading up to the event day, we build a lasting relationship with our couples that transforms them from clients to friends. With a background in events, fundraising, and entrepreneurship, I have acquired experience in weddings, event design, corporate functions, private soirees, fundraisers and more. While we can be a one-stop-shop for all of your event needs, we never suggest a "one size fits all" approach. As a boutique event venue, we take the time to create a unique experience for our clients. I look forward to seeing how we can work together to bring your event to life!
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Time to party! We work with you from start to finish to ensure a perfectly executed event.
Yay, you've decided Hartley House is the best fit for you! Once you have selected a date, we will send over an event agreement and invoice to get the booking process started.
